About APRRI
Asia-Pacific Research & Resource Institute
The Asia-Pacific Research & Resource Institute (APRRI) is an independent research and resource institute dedicated to advancing knowledge, policy thinking, and practical solutions for sustainable economic and social development across the Asia-Pacific region.
APRRI brings together research, strategic analysis, policy perspectives, and knowledge resources to examine emerging economic, social, technological, environmental, and geopolitical challenges affecting communities and economies across the region.
The Institute seeks to contribute to evidence-informed discussions by producing research, analytical insights, publications, policy-oriented programmes, and knowledge resources that can support policymakers, researchers, institutions, businesses, young people, and development stakeholders.
Our Vision
"To be a leading Asia-Pacific platform for research, strategic thinking, and knowledge-driven development, shaping ideas and solutions for a more prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future."
Our Mission
To generate high-quality research, advance evidence-informed thinking, and connect knowledge with action by bringing together researchers, policymakers, institutions, businesses, and emerging leaders to address the economic, social, technological, environmental, and strategic challenges shaping the Asia-Pacific region.
Through interdisciplinary research, knowledge exchange, strategic dialogue, capacity building, and regional collaboration, APRRI seeks to transform ideas into insights, insights into informed decisions, and informed decisions into meaningful development outcomes.
Our Focus
APRRI’s work is centered on understanding the changing dynamics of the Asia-Pacific and identifying opportunities for inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development.
Our areas of interest include:
Our Approach
APRRI combines interdisciplinary research with practical perspectives. We aim to connect academic knowledge with real-world development challenges and encourage constructive dialogue among researchers, institutions, policymakers, businesses, civil society, and emerging leaders.
Through research and knowledge exchange, APRRI seeks to identify trends, examine challenges, explore policy options, and develop ideas that can contribute to better decision-making and long-term development.
Regional Perspective
While APRRI has a strong interest in the development challenges and opportunities of Sri Lanka and South Asia, its perspective extends across the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The Institute aims to facilitate connections between local knowledge and international expertise, creating opportunities for collaboration among researchers, universities, think tanks, development organizations, businesses, youth networks, and other institutions.

Founder’s Message
A Commitment to Knowledge, Research & Development
The world is experiencing profound economic, technological, social, and geopolitical transformation. Across the Asia-Pacific, these changes are creating both complex challenges and unprecedented opportunities.
I founded the Asia-Pacific Research & Resource Institute (APRRI) with a simple belief: knowledge should not remain within the boundaries of research—it should help shape better decisions and meaningful development.
APRRI was established to create a platform where ideas can be explored, evidence can be examined, perspectives can be exchanged, and innovative solutions can emerge.
Our ambition is to bring together researchers, academics, policymakers, professionals, entrepreneurs, young people, institutions, and development partners to examine the issues that matter to our region and explore pathways towards sustainable and inclusive progress.
We believe that the future of the Asia-Pacific will depend not only on economic resources, but also on the quality of its knowledge, institutions, leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking.
APRRI therefore seeks to build bridges—between research and practice, local knowledge and international expertise, established institutions and emerging generations, and today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.
Our journey begins with research, but our aspiration extends beyond research.
We seek to generate knowledge. We seek to encourage dialogue. We seek to connect people and institutions. And ultimately, we seek to contribute to a better future for the Asia-Pacific.
I invite researchers, institutions, professionals, young leaders, and partners from across the region and beyond to join APRRI in this journey of research, collaboration, and development.
